Compliance Agent

The compliance agent (AC) is an employee of the SSG. They work from the central office as support for several services across Alberta. Collaboration between the agents of the FPFA’s support service, the coordinators, and the centres is the key to ensure the well-being, health, and safety of children as well as compliance with provincial rules and standards.

One of the AC’s responsibilities is to accompany and support teams of educators and their coordinator to ensure that they understand and apply the centre’s policies and procedures as well as mandatory rules.

They also have the mandate of accompanying and supporting coordinators in managing unexpected events and emergency situations, as well as conflict mediation.

Another of the AC’s responsibilities is the manage situations requiring disciplinary actions, in collaboration with coordinators.

To ensure compliance, the agent acts as liaison between the service and the inspectors from the government. They indicate the changes to make, coordinates their implementation and performs follow-ups.

Job Description

  • Take steps and accompany the centres to obtain or renew their license
  • Visit centres to verify compliance
  • Collaborate with coordinators so that they know, follow, and maintain compliance standards
  • Elaborating and updating program plans
  • Accompany coordinators in performance management (evaluations, warnings, termination)
  • Perform the coordinators’ annual evaluations
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly coordinator meetings
  • Create tools, guides, procedures, and templates for the centres
  • Orient and train new coordinators

Qualifications

The candidate must have a diploma in early childhood:

  • Level 3
  • Or equivalent (free and simple credentials recognition)
